I moved to NYC from a small town. I wound up at a big University, and then grad school, where I studied writing. All of my accomplishments: the degrees, the travel, the good stories, and dizzying freedom, have been best enjoyed because of the men who share my fire for knowledge, who are lifelong students themselves. 

As a writer, I am instructed to resist cliches. But, it's true! I really am the sweetheart girl-next-door who moved to New York from a sleepy suburb, then discovered her taste for whirlwind romance, good wine, and important men.

Some other cliches I frequently indulge: chemistry is everything, blondes have more fun, I adore whispered secrets, forbidden romance, puppy love, and long walks on the beach. Travel is my passion, and diamonds are a girl's best friend. 

But, I think that when you're with someone who gets you, platitudes dissipate, because being with that person makes the world seem fresh.

When was the last time you did something new for the first time? When was the last time you did something just because it made you smile?

Nothing makes me smile more than a man who knows that a thirst for life comes from the relationships that we share.
